Data Engineer

Main duties and functions:

• Design, build and manage the data infrastructure for travel demand forecast models and GIS software;

• Build sustainable data driven solutions with new data technologies;

• Help data scientists to prepare data and assist with initial data exploration steps;

• Help to streamline an appropriate quality data supply chain for analytics that goes from experimentation into production;

• Look to leverage and establish data standards across the team and organization;

• Help data scientists to prepare data and assist with initial data exploration steps;

• Support geo analysts with geospatial data for GIS platforms and related software;

• Drive software architecture use-cases, modules integration and testing;

• Catalogue existing data sources.

Key skills required:

• Degree in computer science or IT engineering;

• 3+ years of experience on similar positions;

• Ability to build reusable data pipelines using big data technologies (Spark, Databricks, or similar);

• Detailed knowledge of development as part of a CI / CD pipeline;

• Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g. Azure);

• Expertise with developing data solutions (e.g. NoSQL), Java-based software, programming languages (e.g. Python, Scala, Javascript) or Relational Database Systems (e.g. SQL, ETL, UNIX/Linux);

• Familiarity with data science and ML tools / concepts (e.g. data lifecycles, data cleaning);

• Expertise coding in data management, data warehousing or unstructured data environment.
